WELCOME

We are so glad you found us. ISY is built on community & compassion. We offer classes that help you become stronger and leaner while improving flexibility and reducing stress. Below are a few FAQs. Drop us an email or send a text with any questions. Feel free to schedule a 20 minute studio tour with our member engagement team.

At Indigo Soul Yoga, we do it different. Experience an inclusive, compassionate, and welcoming environment. We merge traditional Yoga practice, with movement, mindset, and self study to empower you to take control of your health and wellness. We incorporate meditation, breathwork, Yoga philosophy, static poses, and sequenced flows. We close each class with a lavender towel or eye pillow.

During the class, we are attentive to both in studio and livestream students needs. ISY staff provides consent cards where you can decide if you would like hands on adjustments or massage. Teachers give tailored instruction for you to maintain safety on the mat and to help you incorporate the practice into your daily life when you step off the mat.

Do I have to be flexible and strong to practice Yoga or Pilates?

No. This practice meets you where you are. Yoga is not a competition, but rather a practice that unifies the mind, body, and spirit. Yoga improves strength and flexibility, and also helps decrease stress and anxiety. Be kind and loving to yourself on and off the mat. Feel free to release a pose if your body desires to do so. Our team provides props and modifications for poses and movements to make the practice accessible no matter where you are.

How often should I practice?

We recommend practicing yoga daily, as Yoga is a part of life. Yoga encompasses how you treat yourself and others. In reference to the physical practice, we suggest maintaining a consistent Yoga and/or Pilates practice at least 2-3 days per week, to observe more benefits.

How long are classes?

Classes are 45, 60, and 90 minutes.

What classes should beginner’s take?

We recommend new practitioners register for Chair Yoga, Gentle Yoga, Restorative Flow, and Restorative Yoga.

Should I eat before I attend class?

Come to practice on an empty stomach. We recommend eating 2-3 hours prior to class to allow for digestion. If you must eat before class, we recommend a light snack such as fruits or nuts.

What should I wear?

Wear clothes that are breathable and easy to move in. Shorts, leggings, athletic pants, t-shirts, and tank tops are perfect for class. We do not recommend wearing jeans.

Should I wear socks or shoes to practice?

Please remove your shoes before entering the practice room and place your shoes into the cubbies. We practice without shoes. If you prefer to wear socks to class, we recommend socks with a non-skid bottom. Non-skid Yoga/Pilates socks are available for purchase in our boutique. Yoga/Pilates socks are recommended for Hero Pilates.

Can I use my cell phone during class?

Please be considerate of others who are centering on the mat. Silence or turn off your cell phones prior to class starting and place them with your belongings. If you need to have your cell phone with you during the class, please let the teacher know and silence it. It is recommended to set up your mat in a space that you can quietly excuse yourself to take the call.

What should I bring to class?

Yourself and a Yoga mat. If you don’t have a mat, choose our new client special of 3 weeks of unlimited classes & a Yoga mat. This pass includes a Jade level one mat.

For those joining us online, we recommend a Yoga mat and 1-2 blocks for most classes. If you are attending Yin-Deep Stretch, Restorative Yoga, or Restorative Flow a bolster (big pillow), a blanket, yoga strap, and/or a knee pad can be helpful. A magic circle/Pilates ring and Pilates ball are used for our Pilates classes.

Mats, blocks, straps, blankets, knee pads, and bolsters are available at the studio for complimentary use. The studio has Yoga/Pilates socks, straps, blocks, and Yoga mats (BMat) available in our boutique.

What time do classes began?

Classes began on time as listed on the schedule. We recommend arriving to class at least 10 minutes early. Late arrivals are discouraged. ISY has a 5 minute grace period, after that you will need to reschedule. The studio doors are locked after 5 minutes. If you are more than 5 minutes late you will need to reschedule.

What if I can’t make it to class?

We know that life happens and sometimes you can’t make it to class. Be sure to cancel on our scheduling platform. If you are unable to access the fitDEGREE app, call/text us at 470-332-9409. Cancellations made within 1 hour/60 minutes of class incur a $7 late cancellation fee. No show’s are discouraged and incur a $14 no call/no show fee.

Should I attend class if I am sick?

If you are ill or have a fever, refrain from practice until you are well. Rest, relax, hydrate, and follow your healthcare providers plan of care. If you have tested positive for the flu or COVID-19 or reside with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 join us for online classes via the livestream studio.

Can children attend classes?

The minimum age to attend class is 13 with a parent/guardian present. Children ages 16-17 can attend class independently after their guardian completes the waiver. ISY does not offer childcare. Children cannot be left in the lounge while adults attend class. Children ages 5-10 are welcome in our summer and school break kids yoga classes.

Which classes are heated?

Warm Flow, Power Hour, and Power Beats are our heated classes. In warm flow the practice space is heated to 85 degrees. In Power Hour and Power Beats class is heated from 95-99 degrees. ISY uses infrared heaters. Our heaters are quiet and do not release pollutants, chemicals, or emissions. ISY heaters are “clean heat" meaning they do not blow allergens or dust.

Our infrared heaters produce radiant heat waves like the sun ~ transferring warmth to the body, gently increasing circulation, and providing pain relief.

Why infrared heat?

Infrared heat directly warms muscles, allowing for a greater range of motion. It directly penetrates tissues, muscles and joints, allowing them to heal and regenerate through a combination of increased circulation, oxygenation, and detoxification. Infrared radiation is incredibly useful for pain relief for minor injuries and chronic ailments.

Infrared heat will make you sweat, which is a good thing because it is your body’s natural way of flushing toxins. Infrared heat also increases metabolism between the blood and tissue, which also helps burn calories. Infrared heat has been shown to increase blood flow. It can help lower blood pressure, help oxygenate organs, and rid the body of toxins.
